This was a seedling from Fred Clarke, Sunset Valley Orchids in fall, 2011. The tag reads Paph lowii 'SVO' AM/AOS X self.

It is still in the small 2-1/2" pot. But has a leaf span of ~ 24 inches. Do not see any evidence of a new growth starting. Seems in my other paphs that a new growth starts before flowering but this is one of my first multi-florals so not sure if I should be concerned. Will pot up after flowering.

The inflorescence is 24 inches tall and very stout - 1/4" half way up.

The flowers, there are 4, have a ns of 6 inches.

Lots of color to that dorsal. You must have to set it in a larger pot to keep it from fall over! 2 1/2, that's small!

Very beefy looking bloom. Good color. Yes, it probably would appreciate a larger pot.

Plant and flowers

Finally had a chance to take aanother picture of the whole plant. That is a 12 inch ruler resting on the 2-1/2" pot which is nested in a clay pot for stability.

Very good colour in those flowers!
Would its epiphytic nature have something to do with its ability to grow so well in such a small pot?
