I love it...but I think its v. sanderianum....sanderae has light spots. How big is it? The old sanderianum I had was much bigger than my normal insigne.

Hi Dot,

Beautiful flower. If you look closely and see faint spots anywhere on the dorsal sepal, it's most probably var Sanderae; if there are no faint spots visible, then it's var Sanderianum. I don't think it's a hybrid....

In certain light, before I read all these posts, I saw very faint spots on the dorsal. At the time, I thought it was kinda neat. Now I see it is also a form of ID.
