Paph. insigne 'Chantinii'

My last insigne still in flower late this year, this plant originates from Veitch in the late 1880s and was widely distributed in the early UK orchid scene. In many early RHS awards the clones used as parents are noted, and insigne 'Chantinii' appears frequently. There is an insigne sanderae 'Chantinii' as well, which is in the Lindenia, and which I thought I was getting when I bought this. Oh well...

I thought the spots were larger than in any other insigne I've seen. I like it!

No, this is not Paphiopedilum insigne 'Chantinii'.
It is most probably Paph. Monsieur de Curte (insigne x boxallii), but that's just a suggestion.

I think, this might be an appropriate suggestion. Another guess might be Paph. Nitens (P. insigne x P. villosum)....... I would exclude a pure P. insigne.

Never in a hundred years is that dorsal insigne! Fibre's proposal seems reasonable, but without the correct tag...only God knows!
