Hsinying Concon x armeniacum.
Photo taken at Sunset Valley Orchids (Fred Clarke) 2 weeks ago. Judges refused to award it because it had a pin sized dimple on the pouch.

Yeah, as if that little dimple is a permanent feature of the flower. What, do they take away awards if at some future time there is a dimple that shows up that was not there on awarding?oke:

If the flower blooms as well next time without the blem, then it should be considered for an award. Awarding flawed flowers is a pretty slippery slope to go down, and diminishes the process.
Once the plant has the award, it can have all of the blems and distortions that it can create. The award is a result of the flower as it presents itself on the day of the judging, not yesterday, tomorrow or next year.
All of that being said, it is a lovely flower and I don't see the blem. It usually shows up in the photo.....
