I love them too! It suffered for me until I started giving it more water than my venustum's!! It craves being almost constantly wet all year!!
 
I’m not sure what the issue is, but since then, it grew multiple fans, and flowered more, then started on a slow decline... I can’t keep it wet enough for what it wants. I’m not sure why either. I have no problem growing other Philippino species.

Try semi water culture (swc), lower level filled with leca clay, sitting in water tray? Topped with moss. This delivers constant moisture without rotting the orchiata/perlite/charcoal mix above.

I never have any issue with the media breaking down or root rot, it just seems to need more humidity than I can provide.
