Paph. dianthum and Paph. parishii flowers

Comparison of the two species in bloom. The dianthum bloomed last year with 2 flowers. Only one this year. The parishii is a first time bloomer with only one fan.

I prefer parishii but the dorsal is very twisted. It had 3 flowers (first is already brown and may have self pollinated or an insect performed the deed).

No, pretty straight up with lower portions at base curving inwards.

The flowers developed poorly with 2 buds blasting and two opened warped. Very disappointing. Oh well, next year then.

I wholeheartedly agree: the dianthum is great! That twirling dorsal in the parishii bothers me some, though. Let's hope its a one off - and not a stable feature!
