This is actually the second blooming attempt for this plant which I got as a seedling in 2002. I bought it as parishii. Seeing it in good light the color is actually closer to mauve than the pale olive I see in most photos, and the detail of the hairs and spots is pretty cool too. I need to get a good shot straight at the staminode because there are lots of purple hairs in the back of the pouch where the pollinia are.



 
very nice Rick :clap: it was warm enough to do pics outside :confused: We had a cold blast come through today...must be 20 below with wind chill BRRRRRRR

We haven't even had single digit night temps here in the last 5 years. Last few nights in the 30's with days in the 50's. Tonight in the mid teens with tomorrow in the 40's. Just before (and after) the tornadoes we had nights in the 50's with 70's during the day.
