Orchids of the Inca Trail

Hello,

My wife* found this page of orchids seen along the Inca Trail: http://www.incatrailperu.com/inca_trail_orchids.html
Some I recognize some some I don't. I am most intrigued by the little yellow slipper orchid shown. The leaf shape doesn't look right for Cyp. calceolus (see https://www.alamy.com/ladys-slipper...-canta-north-of-lima-peru-image218011878.html). IF anyone can give names for all the orchids that would be very cool!

Ha ha! A very rare form of C. calceolus indeed! The "ladyslipper" in the first link I'm pretty sure is Calceolaria perfoliata, but I'm not sure about "C. calceolus" one.

Now you've got me hankering to go out on an exotic botanical tour...

I agree, neither photo of "yellow ladyslipper" is a slipper orchid of any type. That photo labeled Cypripedium calceolus is absolutely and undeniably incorrect. I could give some leeway if they were using a common name, since those tend to be ambiguous, inconsistent, and at times regional, and frankly it wouldn't surprise me if the locals called those flowers "lady slippers" or something that translates to "lady slipper". However, they aren't orchids for sure and certainly not Cypripedium calceolus.

The guides might have used one of their common names - slipper flowers - and created the confusion.
