My neighbour's mother buys big box store orchids and once she found out that I grow orchids, instead of tossing them when they're done blooming, she forwards them along to me. This was originally purchased as one of those hideous blue-dyed Phals. I rebloomed it last winter with one very tall, multi-side-branched inflorescence with a couple dozen, large (~5"), white flowers. However, this year it gave me two stems. I didn't have a nice, vigorous, big white Phal; so, I decided to keep this plant to enjoy each year. It's potted in an 8" clay pot in a mix of CHC and perlite. I really like that it side branches so readily and the blooming lasts 4 to 5 months from beginning to end. The photos were taken 2 months ago and it's still going strong on my desk, next to my computer. Not bad for free!

I agree with Dot...again... and a really nice save. I have one big
white Phal. Paloma and I love it. It blooms regularly, puts
out basal keiki every year and blooms a VERY long time.
Every orchid grower with the proper conditions should
have one big, white Phal.
