I recently had the good fortune to explore New Zealand's Fiordland. I don't know if anyone is interested in antipodean natives, but here are a few photos from my trip:

I think this may be Adenochilus gracilis, but I'm not really certain.

Unfortunately I was there just before the Thelymitras were open... :-(
 
Gladly, I really enjoyed spending time in New Zealand and Australia and seeing many beautiful orchids in the wild.

I was not able to track down as many of the famous terrestrials (Diuris, Caladenia etc) as I would have liked and someday I hope I'll be able to take a return trip and work in a visit to Western Australia. The most bizarre plant I was able to see in bloom in Oz was Caleana major. I found it growing in a recreation area on North Stradbroke Island right next to the restrooms! this site has some pictures.

What a blast! Loved the flying duck orchid! They all have an appeal & something we don't normally see if you're confined to the states! Thanks!
