New Mini Cattleya from the 2020 North Jersey Orchid Society Show

I picked up these three mini Cattleya from the show today... very cute.

Love the pink with yellow lip. Is that from SVO or Tenshin? Reminds me of the Crystelle Smiths.

Thanks... I got the three from Tenshin. They had quite a collection of mini’s. Everyone seems to be using coccinea to make mini Cattleya but I’m going to start crossing walkeriana onto mine. Hopefully I can get some bigger flowers with fragrance.

Correct... they are absolutely not fragrant. The coccinea makes great small plants with nice round flat flowers but coccinea has no fragrance. The resulting crosses, at least the ones I’ve seen, don’t have any fragrance either. Cattleya walkeriana is well known for passing on fragrance.
