I ran out of the in spike plants for this season, but I thought I'd share some of my larger specimens with you. Note that I have one which has short spikes verses one with longer spikes. The fact that many of this variety is grown from seed shows the diversity you can encounter.

Short-spiked shutennou:

Long-spiked. It doesn't feel as full when the spikes extend out so far, but I enjoy them both. I also crossed them together.

I have hundreds more in flower, and have been taking many pics. You will slowly see them show up here, and on our website soon.

Wonderful specimens. I have one with 5 growths and a number of starts. It has just aborted a spike (damn !) but otherwise a healthy and vigorous plant, which is more interested in growing than flowering.
Maybe the lack of sunshine here in the UK this summer ?
Cheers,
Tim
