At long last I have a Phrag that is spiking. I got this one a year ago at the Vancouver Island Orchid Show. It's Andean Fire (lindleyanum 'Hero' X besseae 'Carl'). I can see the outline of only one bud, but I'll be happy with just one flower.

Hey, that's great, Todd, good growing!

I don't have this exact cross but I had an Inca Embers for a while and it flowered sequentially, so it may be that though you only see one bud now, there will be more than that in the end. :)

I've only ever seen sequential blooming phrags so just wait....probably more!

Good growing.

I'm not having too much luck with my phrags and getting them to rebloom.

darn it.

Gee Eric, now you have me paranoid! Reading all the info about Phrags on this forum, the only thing I've changed is increasing the water...I assume that would be OK.

Nice, healthy plant. It takes them awhile to get the flower up there, but it should be spectacular when it does. I have Andean Fire, but it's not very vigorous for some reason, yours looks like a winner. Mine doesn't seem to have trouble flowering....just growing. Go figure.
