I got bored looking at my clump of bn sitting in a pot languishing in the corner of my plant room so I mounted it on a piece of century old pine root (found on a friends farm). I mounted the wood on a slab of soapstone.

If I do my part misting and fertilizing it should bloom in about 4-6 months.

What do you think...am I on to something here or do I have too much spare time on my hands?

Brassavolas are dry growers. I would not use moss at all. Just mist more often until established. The moss may actually inhibit root growth with these species.

Thanks for the suggestions.

There plant roots are sitting in a 1 in wide crack in the root and I packed it with just a bit of moss and tied the plants on with 2lb clear mono fishing line.

Once new roots have bound to the wood I will remove some of the moss but I felt some was necessary to start as my windowsill culture is not nearly as humid as my grow room.
