What are the typical size of seedlings in your flasks??

Are they super tiny?
also, approximate number of seedlings per flask?

Easy as pie, Angela!

Buy them all! :D

Seriously, I think a lot depends on two factors.
One, how safely the flask travels. If seedlings get all tossed around and bruised, then not so good.
Two, size of the seedlings. When too small, not so good, hence, I'm asking him about the size. :)

I've done Phalaenopsis in the past. When you get them out of the flask this time of the year, warm and humid, they grow really fast. Very easy actually.

I find epiphytes in general are much easier to establish than say Paphiopedilum seedlings.

Do you feel more confident now? hahaha

For this batch only - these are in glass vessel - taller than the flasks I have on my store which are plastic. See pictures below for example.

It's very easy to work with these larger seedlings. These are one year returned from my lab. You can bloom these one year from now. However it will be another year to see their potential.

You get 22-25 seedlings per flask. I would estimate 20 reasonable size.

Here is an example of a flask I did just now for show and tell

Seedlings are very large so they don't jumble. I will stuff fiber so leaves are protected if box is upsize down.

Media is very soft. You can loosen it with water and a shake. It might be easier to break the glass. But with a little patience. I prefer to use chopstick to bring out one seedling at a time like this.

If you take care of Phal seedlings. Keep them warm and humid. They can bloom on small plant one year from flask. Like these

Thank you, Peter!

Those are very "safe" size! Really tempting!!! :)

What is your expectation out of the first one on the list?
That's the one I might want to get.

F1605 Phal (Ld's Bear King 'Peter#2' (YK-13) X Pylo's Sweet Purple) $100

In order to have good red, we need a pod parent with a strong non-fading yellow. Phal venosa hybrid like this Phal Ld's Bear King hybrid yellow gets darker over time. I'm expecting reds or yellow over red markings from these. Since both parents are fragrant, these should be scented too.
