What is the big Island with all the amusement rides as you cross the bridge into downtown?

Eric, Mercier Bridge is in the west end of the city. Jacques Cartier Bridge gives access to Île Ste-Hélène, the one you're thinking about.

Yes! We get some almost every day. We had a brief period of freezing rain a couple of weeks ago and since then, my car is stucked in ice and snow in its parking space in front of my building. It's pointing downhill toward a garage with ice under. They're forecasting an above freezing temperature sunday. That will allow me to de-ice it before it gets cold again. Meantime, I do all my shopping on foot with a backpack.

I do all my shopping on foot with a backpack.

I can't do that anymore. Walk or bike. That grocery store had a fire two weeks ago.
The others are too far, need auto.
