I don´t have a plant as big as Heathers and I have only one spike. So my congratulationss to Heather. Here is a picture of my plant showing the spike(as I was told it´ll take a long time till it will develop) and also the new growth coming out. I got this plant with 2 growths only, one adult and a new one, so I really cannot compare it to Heathers plant. But I like the picture showing the development of new growth.The other growth is about 20 cm away from the one with the spike.

I think with Mexis you have to be very patient, I don´t know how long this spike is taken to get finish, it´s so slo in development. But I think Heather has more experience in it

The spikes do take quite a while. They're very wirey little things.
Looks like the sheath I have blooming now started in February. So, about 3 months to mature for me.
