If someone were to make a hybrid with, say, Phrag. Hybrid A and Phrag. dalessandroi to make Phrag. Hybrid X, and then later someone makes a hybrid with Phrag. Hybrid A and Phrag. besseae to make Phrag. hybrid Y, and then besseae and dalessandroi are permanently lumped to besseae, then would the lasting hybrid name be Phrag. Hybrid X or Phrag. Hybrid Y? X came first, but Y is from the species with the lump's namesake.

i think the original hybrid name would be the one used, but just remember, to lumpers and spliters, no names are permanent

Since dalessandroi is a var. of besseae, they are still being taken by RHS as a separate hybrid. Orchids Limited recently registered Peruflora's Cirila Alca x besseae as a new hybrid (Yoko W. Fischer) while PCA x dalessandroi was registered as Ekolu a little earlier.
