I still Love this plant. I did acquire a perrinii coerulea this summer. Was able to get it to bloom in the fall. I did notice the flowers were short lived, maybe a week before fading. Is that standard for this species?

Beautiful! I’m not usually big on laelias, but I would make room for this one!

One question: How soon until line breeding has it looking like a perfectly round purple dinner plate?

There is a lot of line breeding in Brazil and the petals are a little wider. However, this species is prize for its stellate star form so they won't breed to a circle as it defeats the desired trait.
