Pace, pace...maybe the discussion climate of ST needs people to let go of discussing exactly this very emotionally loaded topic in these pages?!

    Kind regards,
    Jens

I agree!!!!! Not only is this the most inappropriate thread I’ve seen on this forum in my short time here, but it is the most obnoxious as far as civil discourse goes. People can agree to disagree BUT, please do it somewhere else, with civility, so people interested in orchids don’t have to be a part of it!

Interesting but probably inconsequential and also a pity because we could do with a bit more co2 in the atmosphere.

Yes, because CO2 is the most important nutrient for our orchids and all other plants and it is the actual limiting factor for plant growing. :)

I like the German Sprichwort about life not being a pony farm. Maybe we could have it in the vernacular?

As a professional, working for many years in psychiatry in a senior position, allow me to express my doubts, whether it's actually, Southernbelle, who is in dire need of a psychiatrist! :D

I hope with all my heart You are right. I am sure Southernbelle is a Lady.
But who should force her to read this "nonsense"?:)

Reading and writing is voluntary in this forum, right?

p.s.: For danish users only: I would not sell Greenland

No greenhouse effect? The atmosphere in thermodynamic equilibrium ?? Conformation of why huge pre historical co2 swings don't do much to temperatures? Conformation that the planet has a self regulating atmosphere? The start of the end of the climate scientology zombie infection?.....Maybe...

Interesting, but I fear it's too much for Ehanes. Understanding needs basic scientific skill

The UN chief said today that he ''never saw such systematic damage'' by hurricane Dorian. ''Driven by climate change''.... Hurricanes are now not just caused by climate change but are SYSEMATIC! Amazing!

I think it's an imprecise choice of words. Antonio Guterres doesn't think very carefully about what he's saying.
Such "highly qualified statements" can also be expected by the Pope.

Extinction Rebellion (XR) is not a "non-violent climate movement" but a religious non-violent esoteric sect that believes in the apocalypse of the early "annihilation of humanity" and recommends "self-sacrifice." XR stirs emotions that cloud the mind when they claiming "We are the last generation of humankind from extinction". XR does not want to enlighten but to create mood. XR relies on hyperemotionalization and is anti-intellectual. For that it should be cry and meditated together. XR is aimed primarily at young people and emotionalizes them. XR tries to create intoxicating fears about the future and speaks of the readiness of "self-sacrifice".

Greta is waiting for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Admins: why is nonorchid-related garbage like this thread allowed to stay and proliferate? Misogyny, nazism, repudiation of actual science, please delete this trash and the smug Trumpanzee trolls who post it. Thank you.

This is at the top of the ''Tell me about it'' page. Please read it and understand it.....Post conversation starters, photos and polls. Talk about anything but orchids.
Now to your descriptions and assertions. 1/ ''Garbage'' Why? It is simply an interview with a spokesperson from Ext. Reb. clearly showing that this group is a misinformed one making hysterical claims based on no evidence whatsoever. (Maybe you can supply evidence?) 2/ ''Misogyne'' Why? The subject of gender was not even mentioned nor inferred once and the (my) response would be exactly equal if the spokesperson was male. 3/''Nazism'' Conflating this post with Nazism is so offensive that if the moderator was to take issue with anything, it would be that. 4/ ''Actual Science'' Even though I may thoroughly personally reject the IPCC claims, the interviewee was quoting from their very hymnbook (which is supposed to be the ''actual science'' regarding this subject).5/ ''Trolls'' ....Definition from urban dictionary...''Someone who deliberatly pisses people off online to get a reaction. Where is the evidence of deliberately pissing people off in my post? Your reply however, with it's overly colourful yet completely inaccurate personal attack, I'm not so sure about.
Well congratulations are in order. You seem to have been incorrect with every claim in your post. Some sort of record?
