The answer was "42", wasn't it?

I can't imagine that this is just one or two plants (and if it is, I want proof ;)), but it definitely is a most impressive handful of helenaes.

Hi Goldenrose,
this helenae is not grown by man but by nature !
this plant is 100% freshly collected from the jungle,
and is currently in Vietnam not in the USA
regards cliokchi

it's in the title 'how many helen do you think ?'
helen is short for helenae, a species and we're all in awwwe!
Great growing!!!

too many helenaes !!!

hi Baodai and fellow slippertalkers,

i've been to Vietnam many times i know Probably the collector who supllied
these plants, they don't sell by growth they sell by weight 1kg= $ ?
these resellers in the vicinity of Hanoi don't have orders for these plants
they just order 100/200/500 kg and wait and hope that the customers will come
and if not they just throw the plants away and order new batches
the fact that nobody around Hanoi grows any plants,
this way the plants die in huge quantities,
i'm still surprised that even today they can still find these
in such quantities.
i'll include a few pictures taken during a trip sometime ago
to document this behavior, it's not in my habit to publish
this kind of pictures but here's a few illustrate
what i just wrote here above.
Respect & love of orchids

Hi Cliokchi,
I said you are half right with this quote "this plant is 100% freshly collected from the jungle, and is currently in Vietnam not in the USA", I wish all orchids that are discovered from Vietnam stay in Vietnam, but as you can see they are all over the world. Just remember, if they can move a "snake fish" from Asia to Florida, Do you think they can't move some kgs of orchid !!!!

hi baodai,

the snake fish in Florida we're officially imported for the aquarium trade
they became a problem because stupid ignorant people released them
in the open water system of Florida and the Southern states,
believe me I know everything about illegal routes that people think they should use freely ,
but believe me the legal consequences don't add up for joy it bring to you
[ look at Harto Kolopaking, george Norris and many more]
it may be interesting to talk so freely about these things on the forum,
but indirectly it puts the forum in jeopardy for it's reputation
in regards to USWFLS !

I ask you once more very nicely to try not discuss
these matters in such an open way,
it's my personal opinion that the mods of this forum
should create some clarity in this matter,
anything that I have ever posted on your forum were pictures
of plants inside the country of origin
and not illegally moved over State borders into the USA, CANADA OR EUROPE !
furthermore i would like to make clear that i immensely enjoy this forum
and this posting i just made ,i only did out of respect to the forum and my serious concern in this matter
respect to all
yours cliokchi:eek:
