Harvested my first Phrag capsule

On 3/8 I crossed my Schroderae (Phrag Sedenii 'Penn Valley' AM/AOS ) http://www.slippertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3149&highlight=Sedenii+'Penn+Valley' with an HCC/AOS Phrag Dominianum 'Bob Mc.'http://www2.slipperorchid.org/Domini...cAos_Acker.htm
With caudatum in the background, I had expected the pod to hold on the plant longer. Schroderae is not known as a good breeder so I hope there will be viable seed. Keep your fingers crossed for me

Cool Ron I've never had a lot of luck with Phrag seed... either the pods fail, or they split open before I realize they're ready Good luck!

Matt, another Phrag cross I did this year failed. I was fortunate to look at the capsule yesterday and saw that it was getting ready to split, or else I would have missed it too. There was no change in capsule color but I noted that at the capsule seams there appeared a string-like dried structure separating from the pod. I also harvested 2 Catt crosses a few weeks ago and am watching an Ansellia x Cymbidium capsule.
