the Hanne Popow hybrid was 'created' by Bosha Popow nursery in Germany (I had this confirmed by mail today); the name stands for Hannelore Popow, and I think the german way of pronouncing could be transposed into english +/- ==> Hunne (pronounciation of the e as in the word 'German' ) ==> Popoff
