This jewel orchid is majorly old and getting quite large with multiple divisions. Blooms every winter. Common enough but hard to beat the foliage. Flowers are just secondary but charming in their own way.

It seems Ludisia may be the correct name, but I'm not sure...I've seen both names interchanged.

Ludisia discolor is the accepted name now. I think the change is pretty well established. Seems like at least 20 years since the switch was started. Most people thave changed their tags.

Mine was given to me so it did not have a tag...I was told Haemeria and the name stuck. I will now update my seriously out-dated name.

Love those jewel orchids! I got a [supposedly] fragrant L. discolor clone seedling from WOC.
