My name is Kevin Ink

Looking forward to meeting peeps and discussing CYPS

I live in the shires of central New York on a property my family homesteaded in 1793 when this was the edge of the American frontier

Much of the property has remained relatively untouched.
Cyp acaule thrives and flourishes in the glades around the house.

I have decided to try my hand at some hybrids.

I purchased:
SABINE
GISELA
JIMMY
PHILIPP
PAUL
EURASIA
URSEL
PIXI

from Rodger at RAISING RARETIES last fall

Received lovely plants so fingers crossed for spring 2016

I am a botanical artist:
kevinink.com

Studied plants my whole life
Worked with MASS Hort
& studied botany at Harvard

I am a plant-o-holic
Have more to share, I hope

I should see if my new kids come up out of the ground first...

Curious to know others with collections in central New York

Oneida County here

Other CYPS I'd like to try are
CHAUNCEY
AXEL
CARSON

The colorations are quite extraordinary ....

As I peruse this site, I see more.

Does anyone have a lead on the 3 above ?

They may become available in future

But like any o-holic, I want them NOW!
( geek face)

That's all for now.

Looking forward to connecting

Welcome from KY. I'm so glad to hear you have a thriving
stand of acaule. Pine bark beetles destroying pines killed
almost all of the acaule on our property. It makes me
glad to know they're doing well on your property.

Welcome to Slippertalk!

I spent a little time on your website -- glad to see another Mac user here! I can see you are not exaggerating when you say you are influenced by nature. I like your work.

Welcome Kevin, your website says you live in Los Angeles, did you move back to Oneida county? I remember a historical marker just north of Madison/bouckville describing land deeded to rev war members. I grew up in lisle ny and recently lived 12 years in oriskany not oriskany falls and a year or so in whitesboro until the Utica greenhouses closed and we all left.
Nice work! I can do camera, don't have the drawing skill
Lots of native orchids all through that area and upstate ny
