Grammatophyllum scriptum var Kiilani

Grammatophyllums are very large plants but recently there have been smaller varieties hitting the market at shows. This plant is only 18 cm (7") tall with a 45 cm (18") spike. The flowers don't appear to open fully. I spread the flower a bit for the pic. I am crossing it with my Cym aloifolium. I am going to do the cross both ways.

This looks really dark. I wish they'd open flatter, though.
