I bought a flask of these just before they went out of business. I believe the kovachii had an FCC and the besseae was their "Mega" clone. This is the first to bloom and probably the only one that will bloom this year. The color is a little darker than some FSs, but it still has a little white around the center. It is fairly flat, but otherwise the shape is not special. The dorsal is wide and structurally supported by a keel, so it may not pucker, but I doubt this can be used for breeding, since "Mega" was probably tetraploid, which means this is likely triploid. I plan to grow this another year or so to see if it might improve. My greenhouse has been hot and sunny this spring, which may have had some effect upon flower quality. Mike
