Just received my first flask from Sam. I ordered a flask of Paph. vietnamense and I plan on repotting it into a 4” after 24 hours with the lid off. Currently it’s in my quarantine enclosure where it stays at 75% RH and around 74F with good airflow.
Thank you! This set up just has a small heating pad on the bottom and a 40mm USB fan on the top. I just have to adjust the glass lid to adjust humidity and it gets natural lighting from a south facing window. Plants will typically stay in here for 2 weeks or so before I put them in the bigger enclosure. I’ve attached a picture from a month ago, so there’s quite a bit of plants in there now but it’s basically the same set up (larger heating pad, 2 fans, supplemental lighting).great flask and very interested in your set-up.
Do you normally deflask this way? It is certainly an interesting way of deflasking. I guess it helps the seedling to acllimatise to the local conditions.Just received my first flask from Sam. I’m outside of Portland, Oregon. My enclosures usually float around 67 F so the mats help bump up the heat. Now that we’re heading into summer I’m sure I can turn off the mats until winter.Nice setup. Where are you that needs heating mats?
This is my first deflasking, so I really hope it works out. I raised the RH and plan to very slowly adjust the lid to lower the RH once they establish in their new potDo you normally deflask this way? It is certainly an interesting way of deflasking. Noted, I had gone through with a square of toilet paper to dry off the crowns and leavesKeep leaves dry esp the center by nightfall.
Very smart move!Noted, I had gone through with a square of toilet paper to dry off the crowns and leaves

Lol! I think next time I’ll just fill a large bowl with water and submerge the pot till it reaches just under the seedlings so no tops get wet. Would definitely save a lot of time! You should also wear a watch loupe while sucking up the water with toilet paper!
