aka Night-Blooming Cereus. Southerners used to have parties when these bloomed. The beauty and perfume of the flowers is out of this world but they last only one night.

My Mom used to grow one in her garden and it bloomed every year. I moved too often so I gave mine to my sister-in-law and it has bloomed already this summer. She started one for me, but it is young one so it will be a while before it blooms. They are easy to start, just pull off a segment and root it in water, and give them away to friends. These offspring are from the original plant of my mother's, 40 years ago.
