Envirionmental effect on flower quality

This is the same plant, cattleya trianaei mooreana , last year and this year.

So do you attribute the difference to global warming or....? This years is so much improved to the point of not even looking like the same plant.

Last year looks as if someone at a crucial point went away and forgot to water his plants, before he left! This year it's simply gorgeous and neigh perfection!

As usual, the genetics are only part of the battle. We spend a lot of time and money chasing the genetics when maybe we should be focusing more on all of our cultural practices.

I saw a similar improvement with another trianae from one year to the next. Was the plant more mature and larger? I wonder whether it’s a trait of this species,

The first photo looks more typical of the “Mooreana” clone. Is this a division of the original plant?
