This was one of two emersonii I got from Wenqing Perner. It was in bud, when I bought it...as I bought it barerooted, I was quite curious to see, whether it would succeed to flower this time round:

P. victoria-reginas from Ten Shin Orchids - first after I bought the first one, it appeared to me to ask, whether it might be possible to buy one from their exhibition, that had quite larger flowers! With the kind help from Wenqing and Jean-Lux (thank you so much!) it was sent to me, when the show was over.

First plant with a double flower for it's closeup:

Second plant with the larger flower:

That emersonii ... GASP! Very good growing (and probably a really vigorous plant) for it to have continued blooming after being bare root like that. This species and its hybrids are notorious around here for blasting buds at the slightest provocation. I think a honeybee fart in the next town over is enough to do it.

And that P. victoria-regina is glorious as well. The flowers are so pretty. I prefer the smaller growing relatives for the simple fact that they leave more space for me to grow other Paphs, but the flowers on this species are gorgeous.

Is your emersonii fragrant at all? Nice flower. and the plant looks quite compact. They tend to be a bit larger usually.
