Dendrobium trantuanii Perner & X.N.Dang, Orchidee (Hamburg) 54: 220 (2003)

A really very nice species with beautiful flowers.

I think the problem with name is because most non vietnamese-speakers do not realize that vietnamese's names are written with last name (or Clan name) first and first name (individual name) last.
His name is Tran Tuan Anh
(The middle name sometimes is used to distinguish a branch Clan name from the main Clan , in this case all males descendants of the minor branch share the same middle name also. Most of the time though, middle name is employed to bring more meaning to the individual name)

many thanks for your explaining of the name.
I think that Holger had spoken with Mr. Tran Tuan Anh before he described the species and used the name tarntuanii.

And all those plants come from Laos, there is none in Viet Nam...
 
It has a Man cologne smell . kind of peppery like Grey Flannel
