A whole bunch of delenatiis are in spike!

This is the first to bloom. Supposedly a vinicolor form from Hung Sheng line. But as you can see from flower and leaves, it is likely a half vini. Maybe the other 2 HS ones will bloom darker .

It's such a strange thing, but very human: when we expect a flower to be of a specific type/form, and it turns out different, it's difficult not to react with disappointment, no matter how beautifulll the result turns out to be! And the delinatii in question is a very lovely and aesthetic flower - but right you are, Leslie, it ain't vini.

I agree, though, with Just 1 more in his/her/their appraisal of the colouring/markings on the staminode shield - and hope, that you, when the disappointment has dissipated, after all can enjoy the flower, Leslie!
