Quite a big plant that provides many flowers (20-25 on each two spikes).
Pepper fragrance.
Here is one of the first flowers to open:

I have been growing it for only 6 months, with rockwool growcubes, warm temperatures and bright light. No rest period

I bought one at a show several years ago and found that it was innundated with scale. The critters like to hide down in the leaf bracts where you can't see them. So, it struggled and died. I need to get a pest free one and try again! They're so cool.

Does it spike at the base of a young bulb, or from an old one?
