When a new thread is started, when does it show up under quick links "Today's Posts"? I have posted before (I think mainly beginner section) and it doesn't seem to show up in "Today's Posts" until maybe a certain number of replies is reached. Is this how it works?

I honestly have no idea. I always assumed it was time based - if it's posted within today's 24 hour period it should be in today's posts.

You know, when we started the forum ten years ago, the person who set it up just chose the most popular/affordable software (v-bulletin) at the time. The forum began, and I ended up running it. It's not something I've ever taken a course on or anything - so a lot of the behind the scenes minutia I really don't delve too far into. We don't have all the newest bells and whistles because it's run pretty simply from day one and people seem to like it that way. As long as we are up and running, and paying the bills, we're pretty much good to go.

    There should be no delay.

Hmmmm, so you can all see this thread, "Paph. primulinum var. purpurascens?" in "Today's Posts"?

    Interesting.

I can. Try clearing your cookies, cache, etc. Maybe you have something going on like the people who have issues with unread posts not being correct (check out that thread in this forum for more info.) Have you tried another browser?

No, haven't tried another browser. Using a Mac and Safari. Not sure if you've had problems with them before. Will definitely check out the other thread you mentioned.

Also, when I check my "User CP" it doesn't show any threads that I've written or contributed to. In other, similar forums, if I've posted anything it shows up in there as a subscribed thread. Might I need to change some settings in the forum to see this as well?

Thanks for your help. Sorry if these are annoying newbie questions.

    Not at all.
I think you need to actually "subscribe" to the thread if you want to have them show up in user CP. You can do that in the dropdown "Thread Tools" menu when viewing a thread. Again, this is an older version of the v-bulletin software so other forums may have newer features that we don't have here.
