Penang, Malaysia..d home of fabulous paphs.
I have recently started my paph-cooling program... I was wondering if any other growers also cool their plants to make them bloom. So far, I started with paph barbatum, exul and delenatii, as well as a purple Taiwanese phal that won't bloom for me..! The exul has been with me for quite a few years already, but refuses to flower... I heard that some growers recommend placing the plants in an air-conditioned room, but i'm just too plain lazy, so i place ice cubes on their roots at night... Anybody have any idea if this technique may harm the plants..? Btw, i have conco-bellatulum and angthong sheathing now. Will post pics later... =)

I have only heard of people placing ice cubes on cymbidiums in subtropical regions to initial spiking. Not sure if paphs can be done the same way..
