Bought this summer from orchidman on European eBay as trianae semi alba but clearly not. It’s a very light pinky lavender. Three leads, two flower spikes and four flowers. Not bad for a first blooming. The sepals are a bit curly and all over the place. Maybe they will improve on future bloomings.

ps the other plant in the photos is the Bob Betts ‘white lightning’. The last bloom on this is still going strong.

Great blooming David.

The dorsal sepals on trianaes naturally curl back usually. They can be coaxed to stand forward with a little help lol. Many good cultivars do this curl. Very few will stand up erect on their own, even the heirlooms. The few that do really stand out amongst their peers.

The use of the term concolor refers to flowers that have the lips the same color as the tepals (aka light pink), without any lavender markings or blotches. The only color that can be there is the yellow throat. So in this case the flower is not a concolor but a typo (or the type flower, as found naturally in the wild).

The sepals in general curl, not linked to humidity usually as this occurs in GH culture too with the same cultivars. It's inherent. You can observe this in insitu pics of trianaes in Colombia.

Sometimes through some miracle they will straighten themselves up with no help. Even on the same plant with different flowers!
