Cattleya Mareeba Tiger (Cattleya tigrina x Cattleya schilleriana)

Another blooming of my original Cattleya Mareeba Tiger. I can not recommend this hybrid enough. It is an extremely vigorous grower. However, I have to figure out how to increase the flower count. Every year I bump up the light but can not push past 2-4 flowers. Next year maybe full sun??



I have a new comer to bloom party. Another Cattleya Mareeba Tiger made with coerulea parents.

Yes, there are several. For examples, here is one from Cal-Orchids: Cattleya Mareeba Tiger The average flowers per inflorescence for AOS awards is 7.4.

My coerulae Mareeba Tiger is blooming again. This time with 3 flowers which are darker and more olive. Hmm... maybe it had more light this year.
I appreciate that it blooms so readily.
