Hello! I have a: Catt. Lavender Lulu 'FL.SunCoast' x Smbc. Mem. Louise Fuchs 'RoyFinley' . I have had it for about 6 years. I can't get it to bloom. Tried outdoors with medium light to 70%. Also in door at a sliding door. I live in Venice Florida. Any tips to help this along...yes I tried bloom booster beginning of spring. Thanks for any help! Suzanne, try giving it more sunlight! 3-4 hours per day. Early morning sun is best.
While these Cattleyas like ample sun, they hate too much heat buildup. As you increase light, increase air movement to help with the overall cooling!
Having spent 9 years in SW Florida, heat buildup is very hard to avoid I know. But day after day with temperatures over, or near 90F will not make these guys happy.
