I don't have a good ID on this one. It has been in my collection for years and came tagged flammula

the length of the spike is similar to purperescens

I was thinking of some other cirrhopetalum that had purpuratum as a synonym or something.

But looking through Jay's site there is a "vini" variety of auratum that looks similar, and elegans is kind of there too.

Are you sure its a species?

You wanna try this one? Jay has a picture of this one on a site not hooked to the encyclopedia calling it C. auratum, but I can't find this one anywhere else.

Whatever it is, it is very pretty and a nicely shaped bloom.

I am always amazed at the variation of flowers on bulbos.

Very, very pretty! How big are the flowers? Plant? I just bought my first 2 bulbos, a lobbii and echinolabium. I'm starting to like them now!
