Here a picture of a Brassavola nodosa division; I acquired the mother-plant in 1989. After growing to a pretty size plant, having been infected by scale, it began dying back. Fortunately, I had done some divisions before; here the largest of those, flowering for the second time this year.

The Psychopsis (Oncidium) papilio is from 2004, has now 3 flower stems, and has flowers again and again since that time, always with an interval of 2 months.
Is it a papilio ? I have seen this teddy-like design on the lip on differently-labelled flowers (kramerianum ...)

That is one GREAT face on the papilio!!! I hope my papilio looks like that when it gets around to blooming!
If this is any help, this is Mendenhall 'Monarch' AM (Butterfly x papilio).

I'm not sure what my avatar is, I took that pic at a show.

i don't know much about psychopsis, but i think the flowers are similar but the shape of the inflorescence (flower stalk) is what determines the species. that might be very wrong, though...
