I have had this orchid for many years. It is a reliable bloomer (once a year), and extremely fragrant in the evening. Great orchid for beginners! I grow it close to a southern window in a wooden basket.

Some of the orchids that I have killed in the past, if I really like the orchid I will try them again. But, only if it is an intermediate grower. I have had my fill of the cool growing orchids...just can't keep the cool enough in the summer. I feel that I have more experience growing now, and feel a bit more confident that I will have more success now.

Give it another shot!

Claudia

PS: Love your quote!!!

I can only ever bloom mine in the summer, so no guess here. I've seen some ones with pinker tones, perhaps that is the winter blooming?
