Hey all,

Given the amount of botanical literature written in German, I was wondering if anyone knows of a German-English dictionary covering botanical terms?
(roughly equivalent to Stearn's Botanical Latin)

Also, does anyone know of a good book for learning how to read German? I really hate learning new languages and I don't need to speak or understand German, but the grammar seems confusing. It would be nice to be able to understand the rough structure of a sentence and then use my handy German-English dictionary to get a rough translation.

Thanks,

most german syntax is similar to english...there's a few notable exceptions though.

sometimes a verb or verbs will get kicked to the end of a clause.

there's lots of good grammar books out there. just get on amazon and type in german grammar.

I have "german in review" specifically for grammar stuff. for learning german, you'll need something else though.

"nein, nein, nur nicht heute, sagen alle faule Leute."
