This is one of my favorite hybrid Phrags. PHRAGMIPEDIUM MONT FALLU..

It had 5 blooms on it, in succession. When the flowers first opened, the petals are of course very short, flat and not twisty, very crumpled, like newborn butterfly wings. Over a period of about a week they lengthen tremendously and start to spiral..

It won ribbons at 3 local orchid shows and society meetings.

The cross is between Phrag Grande and Phrag. longifolium. So that makes it 25% caudatum and 75% longifolium.
