Upon checking my plants yesterday, I found out "something" on my paph jackii. it's not easy to tell what this is at this stage but I'm pretty sure it's a spike, not a new leaf.... Does it make sense for this species to bloom at this time of the year ?

Hi Sangii, welcome to the forum!

I don't know for certain, but I have recently heard of a lot of malipoense and their hybrids getting ready to bloom so perhaps jackii is related enough to be on a similar schedule? I hope so for your sake! :)

This is right at the start of the season for bud initiation in malipoense and jackii. As for blooming, malipoense is one of the slowest in bud/spike development. It is almost painful to watch the spike for 6 months waiting for something (anything) to happen.

My Lynleigh Koopowitz just started spiking. Does that count?
