Upon checking my plants yesterday, I found out "something" on my paph jackii. it's not easy to tell what this is at this stage but I'm pretty sure it's a spike, not a new leaf.... Does it make sense for this species to bloom at this time of the year ?

I don't know for certain, but I have recently heard of a lot of malipoense and their hybrids getting ready to bloom so perhaps jackii is related enough to be on a similar schedule? I hope so for your sake!

malipoense can flower in summer and or winter - jackiii ? don't know but why not
This is right at the start of the season for bud initiation in malipoense and jackii. As for blooming, malipoense is one of the slowest in bud/spike development. It is almost painful to watch the spike for 6 months waiting for something (anything) to happen.
