This one if flowering for the 2nd time with four blooms each just over 16cm across. A big increase from the two last year. The scent is just now kicking in as they mature.

The plant came from Strauss Orchideen 18 months ago as part of about six and as they start to flower I am really impressed with their quality. The x hardyana I posted last month was part of the purchase.
Percivalliana 'summit' and 'Oro blanco' flowered in the winter.
In Europe if you want Catt species you are mostly restricted to seedlings of various sizes.
Very few companies offer larger plants of proven quality. Strauss are one of the exceptions.
You do pay bit more for them but so far they look to be worth it

Hello, David, this luedd. is very rarely seen colour variety! I agree with you, I bought one cattleya from Strauss, a violacea coerulea. I don't like to write its price here....but it has 6+ BS growth ( a little dehydrated but established very easy). He has many rare colour varieties of cattl species.
