We are nearly at the end of the purpurata season. Just carnea to open in a few days.
I prefer this colour form photographed in full sun.
You get to see the different coerulea shades on the lip this way.
The purple shows up much better.
Indoors it tends to be a greyish.
This year there are two leads and eight blooms.
I love it. It’s such an unusual colour.
