I got some rhizomes from Ki [MoreWater] and had them in the plastic baggies she shipped them in for a long while. I took them out and potted them in little plastic cups w/ drainage holes in the bottom. I have them in a sterilite container w/ Leca on the bottom and some water for extra humidity. They are growing like weeds. This is the progress after 6 days.

nice. i don't think they're all african violets, though they may be. i would say they look like they're all in the african violet family (gesneriaceae) though...
 
Yeah, you may be right. All stuff I'm totally unfamiliar with. Luckily Ki gave me good advice and the store in Chinatown that sells out of bloom orchids cheap had some in nice pots so I'm learning how to keep them.
 
I'm sure they *are* weeds, where they're from. The rhizos were things like Kohleria, Diastema and stuff like that.
