Paph. rothschildianum was first described in 1888. The article says it was discovered in 1987. :) The author must have meant that it was rediscovered in 1987.

Other than that mistake, it's a decent article, although a little shallow.

Yeah I thought it was a nice read, albeit some stuff was exaggerated. Like the price of 1 stem Roth for $5,000 usd. When you can get a blooming size one for much cheaper. I mean its still expensive but not that expensive.

I guess its a way to educate the public and raise public awareness and to deter buyers from buying these exotic plants by exaggerating some stuff. In my opinion it just encourages poachers when they see that they can make a pretty good amount of money by collecting these plants.
