I didn't think I had any other orchids approaching flowering, but this morning I poked around and found two plants in flower! Trichopilia marginata var. majus and Keforea Alice Marlow.
The Trichopilia came from australia (burleigh park orchids) in a hobby flask, and the Keforea as part of a compotting clinic presented at our club by Jim Marlow a few years ago.
ooops!
I've noticed that trichopilias can have extremely short bud formation/flowering times!
Quite a few times I've discovered one in full flower, and the flower is caught in between pots or leaves of other plants and I had no previous idea that the plant was even in bud. This flower was pinched between two pots. It has a nice, spicy fragrance especially when some sun is shining on it. I don't know if there is an official variety 'majus', but is what they designated to try and signify what they felt was a larger lip than usual

(I may have posted flower pictures for this plant before) This flowers for me fairly often, though this flower has much more reflexing in the sepals and petals. Also seems like there is a bit more coloring and spotting on the flower, which sometimes can look a little drab. I guess the colors are a bit brighter on my plants since I've kept things a bit cooler this winter
